Liver In Onion Gravy

 

  • 450 Grams of lambs liver
  • 25 Grams Butter
  • 4 tbsp. Plain flour
  • 1 onion
  • 1 Beef stock cube
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 2 Tsp Cornflour
  • Vegetable oil

 

  1. Wash and trim the liver then dry with kitchen towel, chop the onion finely
  2. Put the flour into a bowl and season with salt and pepper, flour the liver coating it fully
  3. Heat the oil and half the butter in a large frying pan and fry the liver until sealed about 1 minute then remove from pan
  4. Melt the remaining butter in the pan with some oil
  5. Add the chopped onion and fry until translucent,
  6. Add the leftover flour to the pan and cook through for about 1 minutes add the stock cube to 1 litres of water and add to the pan.
  7. Bring to the boil and cook for 5 – 10 mix the corn flour with a small amount of cold water and add to the pan
  8. Put the liver back into the grave and heat through gently
  9. Serve with creamy mash potato and veg
